Dog Trainer Orange Park, FL
Daniel is a combat veteran of both the United States Army and United States Navy. Daniel has had dogs and trained obedience for most of his life, and after suffering from PTSD and a Brain Injury during a deployment to Afghanistan he received a service dog named Sigma. Daniel and Sigma have been a pair for 6 years, and Sigma has changed his life.
Daniel will graciously admit what having a trained canine has done for his self-esteem, anxiety, and his family. This sparked a passion to help other veterans and families benefit from stronger relationships with their dogs. Daniel left his career to join K9s for Warriors and spent several years training service dogs in obedience and a large variety of tasks including alerting the veteran to being approached from behind, medical alerting for many issues such as hearing impairment and oncoming anxiety, and medical tasks such as bracing, or helping a limited mobility veteran get up or down. Daniel worked directly with veterans to pair them with their service dog, help them get connected into their community, and educate them on how to use their service animal.
Together with Sigma they have taught many veterans and their canine’s how to work together and better their daily life. Sigma has since retired from being a service dog and loves being home with his mama but misses working. They are both very excited to be back at work together with Sit Happens Dog Training continuing to help people every day. Daniel’s goal is to give pet owners self-assurance and comfort by building a relationship with their family in their forever home.
