Alex, a retired Navy veteran, served 12 years in the Navy as a dog handler. As a Sailor, he lead, trained and managed Working dogs and dog teams in patrol work, detection work, and obedience. Once retired, Alex became a lead service dog trainer, specializing in training service dogs for veterans living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and MST. Because of his experience in the military and with training dogs, in 2020, Alex obtained a Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences and crisis management. Since then, he has worked in special education, servicing and advocating for clients with special needs as a behavioral therapist in ABA therapy. In his spare time, he also owns a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym where he teaches children and adults self-defense and martial arts. “I have always been driven to help people. Helping dog owners build a trusting relationship with their furry companion builds confidence in both the dog and the owner. It is an awarding journey to be a part of.”
